Yep, some of Proton's Wine patches is responsible for this mess. And it's not related to Denuvo: I tried cracked binaries and the game still didn't launch in Steam, though...

Marker was registered in `Plugin.properties` as a marker. Moved it to plugins and added test files. Thank you!
