Was trying things around this issue and here are my observations (since I'm not sure what's the cause codewise, but hopefully it could help narrow down the issue a little...
Update: This issue seems to have been fixed when I checked out the test site I was using today with the latest Gutenberg version.

As there is a core issue linked to this issue, and we've talked about lowering the priority of these types of issues p1721286471977819/1720683311.692079-slack-C01UW7SB411, setting the priority to Normal.
I can't reproduce the issue on my end, sharing the same experience as mentioned by @liviopv in https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/87825#issuecomment-2178356545. We're addressing clear next steps for all blocker/high-priority issues on The One...
