At this moment this is a Kubernetes limitation (kernel and container runtime already supports resizing containers). There is work needed in scheduler, kubelet, core API so a pretty cross-cutting problem....
I think you can remove the isValidCandidatesFiltering function now. Otherwise /lgtm
