It appears MyQ has disabled the v5 API, which is unfortunate but was inevitable. There is a v6 available, but moving over to it is not exactly a simple process.

No, I'm running with pymyq and the SmartThings_MyQ implementations. I follow this repo and a few others just to see what other people come up with.
Yes, the light module is ID 3, and you simply send 1 or 0 to turn on or off. I have one working perfectly with the SmartThings integration: https://github.com/brbeaird/SmartThings_MyQ

I am sorry to say this is officially dead, at least for the time being. The API changes by MyQ are dramatic and are not possible to overcome at this...
