Did some cleanup. I ended up cleaning these up under a second class for now, because dropping `BaseTest` from the main `TestCBC` class resulted in one of the other tests...
ah, okay, if I can kill the old `test_options`, this should be easy. I'm not sure my new tests really cover the same things it was intended to test, but...
