Yes, of course, that's the idea. Come on, what can be so hard about it? If an encoding scheme is so hard to implement how can it become so popular?
Well, we'll see. If needed we'll use a library, but the intention (at least mine) is to implement it ourselves.
FYI the tables are already encoded in UTF-8. A conversion to UCS2 or UCS4 happens when the tables are compiled. We are not using an external library for this either...
