Thanks! I've also found the problem in the upstream repo for MNE and [created another issue for that](https://github.com/mne-tools/mne-python/issues/12963) so hopefully it will be fixed at the source as well soon.
I'd be very onboard with seeing this merged, multi-cursors using hotkeys are quite nice to have.
