Researched it a bit further, and it looks like the "Channel Mixer" step is blacking things out. Prior to that, we have Filmic RGB which adds a bit more contrast.

Edit 2: It looks like these packs were made for an earlier version as the Channel Mixer step appears to be deprecated.  Would there be any chance of porting...
