Quick update: making progress, but it is interesting in that Stripe now requires a browser-side bit that fetches a transaction-specific token so the customer's data never passes through your server...

There is an actively developed Braintree lib for elixir here: sorentwo/braintree-elixir Might be a useful starting point; perhaps @sorentwo would even be interested in collaborating/ coordinating...

actually, it is "fixed" in master as it no longer does a declaration in the for loop. so what appears to be needed is a new release ...

FWIW, I have done exactly this and it works just fine. I did determine while testing that that one needs to be aware that it will create an absurd number...

Actually, simpler would be to do as Ecto et al do: support an :otp_app option which is then used for the configuration source. (Sorry for the brainfart-overly-complex solution suggestion above..)
