Hi @elennick , thanks for replying so quickly! The way I've always implemented timeouts is by using `CompletableFuture`s, but I'm not sure if that is the correct way of doing...

The CORS issue is really easy to solve, you should checkout [this](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Canvas_API/Tutorial/Using_images#Using_images_from_other_domains) documentation in the Canvas API.

Netty leak detector logs "LEAK: ByteBuf.release() was not called before it's garbage-collected" in multiple unit test with BufferedChannel in the stack.

We still have the same issue on version 4.3.7 You can see the stacktrace [here](https://gist.github.com/artus/0c09e14a00872166ef5c583b4018965d).
