Metal gives Error Domain=MTLLibraryErrorDomain Code=1 "MTLLibrary is not formatted as a MetalLib file"

I tried to run the patch from the other repo as mentioned by @bojanbabic above, and set METAL_XCODE, etc, but still not able to run, for example, beautiful_mnist.py or beautiful_cartpole.py...
