It seems that this has yet to be fixed in Fedora 35. I can try and scrape together a pull request. Although, it would break away from the package manager...
I know this is pretty late to the game. I'm adding this mainly for anyone who's looking for guidance Personally, I hate to use Elogind just for something like this....
