I experience the same problem. The version reported in error is always with one or more 0 than what really should be. In the repo I have arleady tag with...
I forgot to mention that I run it on Docker. From what I see version doesn't exist in DB and under var/repo/... i see only composer.json file.
It would be nice if this PR is merged. It is useful addon to the application and I am sure that many would use it.
