FWIW, I see a similar issue in WingIDE (wingide.com), which I know is using the Qt graphics library. Same text, same size, etc. doesn't have a problem in gvim, or...
My assumption has been that it will continue to be developed by the community, or perhaps that Github will take it over. So far I don't see evidence of that....
