I should say this was on 0.5.0, I'll upgrade to 0.5.2 but can't see anything in that release that will fix this.
Still occurs with 0.5.2.
I should state that 10.1.0.2.is the upstream DNS server, not the mesos-dns server.
In fact it's even odder - I'm seeing it fluctuate between 12 and 1024. Maybe it's just being hit by this many requests and is passing them individually? I'll bump...
When I hadn't increased the FD limit I ended up restarting the process (don't _think_ it went down but equally I thought it was a plain leak and so wasn't...
I don't I'm afraid, is there anything I can do to help if I see it again? (stracing? tcpdump seems a good idea - at least to see inbound/outbound requests)...
iptables used to be able to filter by process ID. So maybe it's possible to add "and not PID of the kiam-server" to the iptables rule?
