If it helps, the way I am using the application is by double clicking on my epub file (which does `com.github.babluboy.bookworm /absolute/path/to/my.epub`) and not by browsing my library using bookworm....

Indeed, the issue doesn't occur when I simply run bookworm alone (equivalent to running `com.github.babluboy.bookworm`). In that case my last e-book is opened and no new row is created. So...

Apart from the `DICTIONARY` octree issue, was there something else preventing this to work with the octree plugin?

I've not followed this too closely but what I suggest is to limit the on-screen canvas to have its biggest dimension be in some interval, let's say [1000; 2000] px....
