Are you sure you aren't paused for some reason? Try `#resume`. Might also be worth trying `#reset` to see if some other setting may have been triggered.
I know things like this could be prevented with a claims plugin or the like, but I don't want to use any of those.

I agree. I'm glad external tools can handle it, but having native options would be nice.
