was this issue closed because it is not going to be supported, or because it has been fixed? I don't see anything in the changelogs about it.

The Kopernicus particles system was always pretty limited. I don't think I could match the style and behavior of stock comets with Kopernicus particles.

"UseStockAsteroidGenerator = true" what exactly does this setting do? My guess is, as it ties into my earlier assumption, that it enables stock asteroids instead of using System.cfg.
