This plugin isnt maintained and in its current state, in my opinion, isnt fit for purpose and issues arent being addressed - It doesnt handle JSON on iOS and/or Android....

Can confirm this issue hasn't been fixed in the latest release. I've had to add the suggested work around in order for the app to build for Android.
