This one is annoying. Especially when it is not really wife-friendly to reboot a Android-TV (like five clicks down in TVs sub-menu).
I have this problem as well, using TVheadend Live Channels on a Sony Bravia XD8505 with Android-TV 6.01 as frontend. I´m loosing the HW acceleration every time commercial breaks movies....
The TV is occupied by family this evening, will give the build ago tomorrow and report back.
I have the same problem on my remote instance, HA running in a docker container and the install made with HACS. 
Tried to change so the docker install of HA was set to host, and the RPI HA set as reomote. No diference, config not possible on any of the installations,...
Any progress on this one? Can I help uploading logs or try something?
