Yeah, I'm not sure about this one being fixable unfortunately. Quark has to add info to the compasses to track their usage, and the recipe book doesn't like this.

This appears to be an interaction with Dye Depot. I can't fathom the code would ever crash at that point otherwise. Try disabling it and seeing it this still happens.
