Just reporting that it also doesn't work on Fedora 36 with GNOME 42.2. Enabling notifications from Howdy doesn't help, GNOME's prompt keeps showing "please try again" messages and the camera...
Could confirm that #687 works (pretty well) on my Fedora install.

Same issue here using Klassy on KDE Wayland. Using the default 'Breeze' decorations doesn't seem to cause the issue. Randomly happens when opening Sublime Text/Merge and sometimes even just KWrite...

I've noticed that removing the placeholder from the paragraph block "fixes" it.
