What's the meaning of "incorrect entry magic“？

I got empty files after inputing “.\thdat.exe -x d th08.dat”，why? And I also “enemy.anm: couldn't open enemy.anm for reading” after “ .\thanm.exe -x enemy.anm”（Happens all versions）
