try starting the binary from the terminal with the --no-overlay option
just now I tried this solution, deleting the last 2 lines in the setup script and it works (uses platformio): https://docs.platformio.org/en/stable//integration/compile_commands.html

somehow neither the dragging nor the reordering of signals works for me.
I am on 6.12.1-arch-1, wayland. Right now I am running the LTS version gtkwave3-gtk3 compiled from the git dir but it also happened with the aur package gtkwave
