just FYI there have been multiple requests for this and it all depends on nextcloud being able to read EXIF data https://github.com/nextcloud/gallery/issues/51 https://www.bountysource.com/issues/37560259-use-exif-taken-date-as-sorting-date-for-photos there's a $370 USD bounty for this...
