It's bad enough when a program create 1 dotfile/directory in $HOME, but three? And two of them are symlinks? Follow specs.

Having a vendor directory included in the release tarball would definitely be useful for GNU Guix. Packages are built in an isolated environment without networking so running `go mod vendor`...
