At least on the latest version, there is a config called $AllowUserShare that lets you disable this feature.
You should create a folder (for me I did /var/www/html/HRProprietary/HRConvert2/DATA/ConvertDATA) and put that in the config.php.
Update: when actually in a match, the background music is unaffected, it's only when waiting for a match.
