Ok, so are there any volunteers around? (I can't help with the F7 series at all nor do I have appropriate HW around.)
Currently no date or time frame is planned for any new release. This is because development is currently mostly on hold within this project, see also: https://github.com/stlink-org/stlink/discussions/1223

I see what you mean. I believe this is also what you meant with the preference to allocate new parameters at the end of structures.
