It shouldn't affect VRCX as VRCX doesn't mod or inject into the game, (minus the Steam login last a heard) as for the use on the API they have stated...

I disagree, we would be losing a bit of UX no point in removing them and as stated above its already used by instances to indicate region.

Might be caused by VRCX calling vrchat.exe? the new launcher uses start_protected_game.exe.
there is a mobile "VRCX Like" for android called VRC Tracker https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tekiro.vrctracker&hl=en_US&gl=US until this feature can be added
I have to agree this feature is really really needed, I have mega syncing an entire 880GB archive for me and randomly it just "forgets" these are synced and ends...
