I can see that modifying the attribute data could be quite interesting as well, it has some challenges such as how to define which objects to modify, how to update...

This idea has been explored before in https://github.com/maplibre/maplibre-gl-js/issues/1295 and there is a bit of a [summary in a comment](https://github.com/maplibre/maplibre-gl-js/issues/1295#issuecomment-1481700252) about the challenges.

Problem is still there with 1.39.1. Using studio connecting to chromium works.
