How do I properly perform Oracle SQL queries through spark_read_jdbc?

I tried to emulate https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45420958/how-to-use-a-predicate-while-reading-from-jdbc-connection, but I recieved the error "Error: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended". What is the proper way?
