Does PIP (picture in picture) still work for you, when your issue occurs?
Then we have both the same issue. Good news: as annoying as it is, there is a workaround. You can force stop aniyomi/animiru, clear it's cache and restart the app....
Funny thing about `.nomedia`? It's a cool android feature, but sadly ignored by some OEM manufacturers like Samsung in its file Explorer. 😢
You could just deactivate the autoplay for the next episode, and the screen will turn off after the current episode is done 😉
