I think *_eff is really confused, why not just replace the logic?
I see the interface change, but i will suggest you to use efficient but not the brief
I still think handle_* is more make sense for me
But I dont want to implement all of features XD I dont think it is worth to investment the time and I wont fail anyone with this

I think if syntax error happened we should not going to do heredoc, in my opinion I would say this is not bash feature but bug :p
