Did you ever find a workaround for this? Page presentation looks a little better than dialog but still kind of a blocker to use this in in a production environment...

I have experienced the same issue on 2.8.0, intermittently on one project, consistently on another, can't really pinpoint the difference in how I'm handling the map lifecycle in both projects....

Isn't this only when you update `LocationComponentSettings`? I found that it asks regardless of whether it is enabled, but simply not calling `location.updateSettings` avoids it. Still not desired behavior imo.

I don't work for Mapbox, so I have no idea when they'll fix it. I work around it by checking permissions before setting this parameter so it's only ever set...
