I also use Arch Linux, it's still an issue for me on 4.9.3. Disabling hardware acceleration is the best workaround for now it seems.

Okay, nevermind! I did some further testing and it seems I had both Entity Culling AND More Culling installed. In this case More Culling was the issue, not Entity Culling....
