Just an update, adding the profile.d file in the Solus package currently so it'll work automagically after reboot.

@yursan9 You're welcome to try to decouple the applet, just bear in mind that we need to make sure it's reliably replacing the Status Area with the appropriate new applets...
@geckolinux You are necroing an issue on an old org. Budgie Desktop is done via Buddies of Budgie since January. No plans on splitting it out at least in Budgie...
This isn't something that is going to be addressed until our rewrite with Budgie 11. So no real need to necro this. We're aware that it is a much desired...

Yes it freezes for 25 seconds which is the D-Bus timeout length. I've looked into addressing it but haven't come up with a solution yet.
Does it work for the prior kernel on Solus?
I agree that Alt +F2 should be an option, but personally I'd rather have Budgie Menu extended to have the option to run the input as a command. The option...
Alt+Shift has worked since the release of Budgie Desktop and I just validated it locally here. You don't need to set it as a keybinding.
