For anyone stumbling across this pr: now there also exists a [web implementation](https://pub.dev/packages/google_maps_flutter_web) of the `google_maps_flutter`-package provided by the Flutter team. However, it is still in beta, i.e. version 0.x.

At least for me this seems to be fixed now in version 1.3.0. Thanks @espresso3389
