I've just noticed, after installing Iris1.7.0+1.20.1 (https://modrinth.com/mod/iris), the problem vanishes, and (even when shaders are off) the custom models render properly

Forge 1.19.2 [canary-mc1.19.2-0.3.3.jar] WorldBorder not working !

Same on 1.20.1 with -Canary: mc1.20.1-0.3.3 -Forge version: 47.2.17
