You could take a look at [DotNetNuke](https://github.com/dnnsoftware/Dnn.Platform) (or "DNN" as they're calling it now). I definitely would not use BlogEngine.NET right now.
This is a good idea. Another option, as good and maybe even better, would be to uncomment the commented-out machineKey setting (Autogenerate,IsolateApps).
