To get the PDM sample working, the line pin_config.mck_io_num = GPIO_NUM_0; needs to be added after pin_config.data_in_num = CONFIG_I2S_DATA_IN_PIN;

UART communication protocol does not set 256 microsteps as it only uses a byte

The firmware is not capable of setting the microsteppings to 256 via UART even though the display shows 256 as option and this can be chosen via the physical buttons....
