I think the BFS algorithm he wrote only support integer, same to the original paper. You may checkout CKKS algorithm if you would like to do some floating point arithmetic.
We are facing similiar issue, are there more specific hardware requirements on storage? We are already using NVMe as suggested in https://docs.base.org/chain/run-a-base-node
