Man, if they're working on it, they work slow.
A year and a half later and I'm having this issue as well.
It seems to me the installer should close any running instances as many other installers do.

I followed the prompt within the application itself and downloaded the latest stable version from that link.
Mine has started working so long as I close it out entirely before trying to run the update. Not sure what changed, because that wasn’t working when I commented before.
