For my case it's a business requirement that SSL is used, as it's a known standard. I also think it's a good idea to have it as an additional layer...

Just wanted to add that `react-use-websocket` is handling the API gateway max connection duration for me. We're keeping our token fresh after every reconnect but that's all.
Ran into this setting up emacs-traad and setting the `traad-server-program` explicitly seems to be doing the trick

There is an option for this in the group settings. But a global option would be much better
