I have the same issue. I tried to index png images, and it gave the exact results of @humcasma. It seems that this issue is unique to windows.
Seems like a browser issue, HEVC is not supported on chromium apparently.
You don't need this for a mkv player. Just download MPV or VLC and install.
UPDATE: Turns out ReactJS/webpack can't let me do that because of security issues or something.
