was able to figure it out.. i was installing ffmpeg manually. but i installed homebrew and had that install ffmpeg 1. /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install.sh)" 2. brew install ffmpeg
