(Request) Keep mining progress on power outages
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When due to some reason a drill loses power it resets its mining progress to 0. For vanilla resources this might not be a big issue, but it may take days/quadrums to mine a small stack of an extremely rare modded resource. I have a metal that requires 576667 work amount while steel requires 1267. It is frustrating when every colonist has to sell a spleen and a lung to get a plasma drill and then wait for years hoping that "this time" nothing will interrupt the drill.
Describe the solution you'd like On power outage remember the bill that the drill was working on and its mining progress.
I can confirm that the progress is reset on a power loss.
This indeed feels very harsh. On the other hand we need to consider that the drills as generally considered to be Overpowered at this point. just keeping the progress would make it even more powerful.
I think it is best to consider this issue when working on the balance. Some alternative ideas to handle this situation:
- Make it constantly lose progress while without power
- Introduce a grace period where you keep the progress if you can restore the power in time and otherwise lose it completely.
