Compilation: drop version restraints recognizing .so files

I think this makes the function too lax. If you really want to tackle those weird suffixes I mentioned in #23545, then what we should do is match .so.X, .so.X.Y, .so.X.Y.Z, .so.X.Y.Z.<anything> (the latter including .so.X.Y.Z.B.<anything>). I've only seen these suffixes on packages with 3 or 4 version components.
