Repairing #20380.

If this is PR accepted, I'm also willing to implement it in the self-hosted DWARF backend.

Just FYI, I would advise against spending time on this because I expect that self-hosted DWARF will be heading in a different direction soon.

Thanks for the heads-up. What changes should I look out for until PRs on self-hosted DWARF make sense again?

Bump. Is it worth it to keep this PR up to date, or is it the same situation as in https://github.com/ziglang/zig/pull/22776#issuecomment-2672797326?
