It seems that there is no search/replace functionality. It would be nice to have it.
You already have headerbar - why not put it to use? "New", "open", "save", "save as" could go there. It was made to contain buttons. :)
The setting is in "org.gnome.desktop.interface.monospace-font-name" in dconf.
It would be nice to have clear list of deps. On openSUSE I had to install vte-devel, gtksourceview-devel, glib2-devel.
