Change highlight keywords

Can certain highlighting functionality be disabled? Specifically I do not wish * to be used for bolding text, as I use that symbol usually to signify the multiplication operator.

No this is not possible at the moment.

Making it possible to enable/disable individual syntax items defined by the notes plug-in is not something I'm looking forward to because that way lies madness - most of my plug-ins already suffer from the problem of having so many options that I now spend half my time telling people which option they need because they didn't notice it in the documentation.

Would an escape sequence like discussed in #84 be an acceptable option?

Yes I think an escape sequence would definitely be a great starting point.
